要約: | The emission of greenhouse gases (GHG) is a serious environmental problem that affects the whole world, and agricultural and livestock activities are one of the main sources of GHG emissions. Therefore, it is essential to quantify GHG emissions in these activities to understand their impact on the environment and develop appropriate mitigation strategies. This study was conducted in the Zalapa sector located in the northern periphery of the city of Loja, whose agricultural and livestock production characteristics are fundamental to the economy of the city. GHG soil fluxes of three greenhouse gases: carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrous oxide (N2O), and methane (CH4), were measured in agricultural and livestock plots located in the study area using static closed chambers with a volume of 21.4 liters. Photochemical sensors MQ4, MQ135, and an infrared sensor MHZ-19B were employed to register variations in CH4, N2O, and CO2 respectively, and assembled in an Arduino Mega 265 board. The results showed that CO2 emissions were significantly higher in livestock plots, with a maximum value of 784.56 ppm. On the other hand, N2O emissions were higher in agricultural plots, with a maximum value of 52.45 ppm. These results suggest that livestock activities are a significant source of CO2 emissions in the urban periphery. Furthermore, N2O emissions in agricultural plots may be the result of fertilizer use, soil management, and microbial activity in the soil.
