Тойм:Intestinal parasitic infections represent a series of diseases with a high prevalence rate, affecting individuals, families, and communities. In Ecuador, it has been observed that intestinal parasitosis primarily affects those living in rural areas of the country, due to the lack of basic services such as potable water and sewage systems. According to the WHO, anemia constitutes a serious public health problem, with an estimated 30% of the global population suffering from some form of anemia, with rural populations in developing countries being the most affected; anemia can often coexist with parasitic diseases. Given the importance of this health issue and the lack of preventive habits among children regarding these pathologies, the general objective was set to analyze intestinal parasitosis in relation to the presence of anemia in preschool and school-age children at the "Dr. Gonzalo Abad Grijalva" School in Cantón Piñas, El Oro Province. This quantitative, descriptive, and cross-sectional study was conducted with a population of 480 children, from which, based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, a sample of 110 children was obtained. Informed consent was obtained for the collection of biological samples (stool and blood), a data collection sheet was used, and services from the “Santa Inés” clinical laboratory were requested. Upon analyzing the stool and capillary hemoglobin samples, it was found that 18.18% of the children had intestinal parasitosis, and 6.36% had anemia. By correlating these two variables with the obtained results, it was shown that there is a statistically significant relationship with a p-value of 0.006, indicating that children with intestinal parasitosis have a higher risk of developing anemia. An educational activity booklet was designed for the institution to provide knowledge about intestinal parasitosis and anemia to the students of the "Dr. Gonzalo Abad Grijalva" School and to propose promotion and prevention measures for proper control
