description Citizen participation is fundamental for the development of communities, as it strengthens the relationship between authorities and citizens. For this reason, this study sought to contribute to society in the creation of effective solutions through the application of citizen participation mechanisms, adjusted to the realities of the Masanamaca neighborhood. To achieve this, the following specific objectives were established: to collaborate with the neighborhood organization in the diagnosis of its main problems; to provide training on citizen participation mechanisms to empower neighborhood leadership; and to contribute to the generation of spaces for neighborhood residents to participate before local institutional authorities, aimed at mitigating citizen demands. For the methodology, we combined the use of quantitative and qualitative data, adopting an inductive method and an exploratory- descriptive, cross-sectional, and non-experimental design, including a total population of 33 families, composed of heads of household and residents of the neighborhood over 18 years of age. Throughout the study, we worked with the community to identify key problems such as lack of basic services, inadequate infrastructure, lack of green areas, and poor roads. In addition, training on citizen participation was offered to strengthen the knowledge of neighborhood leaders and encourage the active participation of neighbors. Finally, spaces for dialogue were created between residents and local authorities, which were fundamental to effectively address citizen demands. These spaces facilitated direct interaction between neighbors and authorities, promoting a deeper understanding of the neighborhood's needs and problems, and enabling the joint creation of effective solutions to the various challenges facing the community.
