总结: | The chemical characterization of the wood of Cedrela odorata and its relationship with the chemical properties of the soil of a forest ecosystem in the parish of Zumba, province of Zamora Chinchipe, was carried out. The sample taken was from five trees, from which a branch of one meter long and 10 to 20 centimeters in diameter was obtained, then they were processed into flour and then the analyses of ash, extracts, lignin and holocellulose of each sample were made. To perform the soil analysis, soil samples were collected from the place where the analyzed individuals grew and then the level of pH, phosphorus and nitrogen was analyzed. The study revealed that Holocellulose (62.97%), is the most abundant component, followed by Lignin (30.15%) and with a lower percentage the content of Extractive (5.64%) and Ashes (1.24%), these data coincide with the ones reported by other authors for the same species. The soil where the individuals grew is very acid (pH of 4.70) with average levels of phosphorus (33.74 ppm), and high levels of nitrogen (165.24 ppm). It was found that among the variables of soil and wood there are four statistically significant relationships, of which two are positive (phosphorus - lignin with a significance of 0.01 and nitrogen - holocellulose with a significance = 0.01) and two are negative (pH - ash with a significance of 0.01 and nitrogen - lignin with a significance value of 0.04) so that there is a relationship between the chemical composition of the wood and the chemical properties of the soil.
