Yhteenveto:Malnutrition is one of the major health problems that affects not only underdeveloped countries, but also large nations with a stable economy, is a food dysfunction that mainly affects the most vulnerable rural populations, especially in developing countries And Ecuador is no exception, there are now important data from sectors of the population suffering from this pathology. Having said this, the present investigation aims to inform about everything related to this alimentary dysfunction; What is malnutrition? What are its symptoms and consequences? How does it affect children? In addition to sharing the same, this work also poses a healthy eating guide to know how to prevent it. As mentioned in the previous paragraph, thesis work has the following topic of study: HEALTHY FOOD GUIDANCE AS A METHODOLOGICAL STRATEGY FOR PREVENTION OF UNDERNUTRITION IN STUDENTS OF THE TENTH DEGREE OF BASIC GENERAL EDUCATION, PARALLEL "E" IN THE SCHOOL OF BACHILLERATO "PIO JARAMILLO ALVARADO" MATUTINE SECTION, OF THE CITY OF SHOP, PERIOD 2014 - 2015. However, for this research the general objective was to: Apply a Healthy Eating Guide as a methodological strategy to prevent malnutrition in students of the tenth grade of Basic General Education parallel "E" of the "Pio Jaramillo Alvarado High School" section Morning of the city of Loja in the period 2014 - 2015. The work had a qualitative-quantitative approach; On the one hand qualitative because it does not seek the verification of a hypothesis and quantitative since it uses the numerical measurement 5 and the statistical analysis through the Pearson correlation model for the interpretation of the information obtained in workshops applied to the work; Is based on a type of longitudinal study because it is based on the monitoring of the same group of people over a certain period of time, that is, it involves the repeated observation (at least twice, two measurements) of the same sample Of subjects; Applied different research methods such as: analytical, descriptive, inductive, deductive and Pearson's method of linear correlation; The techniques used in the research were: bibliographical technique, direct observation, survey and evaluation; In the latter two, a questionnaire was used as instrument; The survey for the diagnostic test and the evaluation by the pre and post test in order to obtain data to test the information using the Pearson correlation method. Once the information was obtained, we proceeded to analyze, discuss and interpret the results and found that students do not have a clear concept of malnutrition; Show ignorance about what are the main causes and consequences of this disease; Most of them eat an inadequate diet and a large percentage indicate not knowing how they can avoid it. In conclusion, it was determined that the students of the tenth grade of general education "E parallel" of the high school "Pio Jaramillo Alvarado" do not have a clear concept of what is malnutrition and what are its causes and consequences; Most of them have an inadequate diet so they are vulnerable to suffering from this disease.
