| Summary: | Physical education is considered a fundamental component for student learning, in the Unidad Educativa Fiscomisional Calasanz of the city of Loja, a study was carried out that revealed a low development of basic motor skills in eighth grade students of General Basic Education. The objective of the research was to determine the effects of corporal expression in the development of basic motor skills in eighth grade students of the Calasanz Fiscomisional Educational Unit of the city of Loja. To achieve this objective, the mixed approach was used, a quasi-experimental design, the type of research was correlational, the methods were: inductive, analytical-synthetic and statistical, as for the techniques used were: observation card and test, the instruments, in the form of observation record, on the other hand, the Bruimmiks-Ozeretki test was applied to measure the basic motor skills both before and after the implementation of the intervention program. The results were compared in order to determine whether corporal expression has an impact on the development of basic motor skills in eighth grade students, since the results obtained in the second application of the test showed a higher evaluation in the development of the motor skills studied, which strongly confirms the positive impact of corporal expression on the development of basic motor skills in eighth grade students.
