| Summary: | This research work is about Children's tales: interesting pedagogical tool to strength reading with students of fourth grade at Filomena Mora de Carrión School; the general objective was to determine the influence of children's tales in reading students of fourth grade parallel "A" at Filomena Mora de Carrión School, during the 2022-2023 school year; in the theoretical framework, topics related to the children's tales and reading exercises were addressed; the methodology was based on the use of the scientific, statistical, inductive, descriptive, analytical and synthetic methods; to get information, the teacher was interviewed and students were evaluated according to Magallanes Reading, which made it possible to diagnose the students ́ errors. The population investigated was one teacher and twenty-six students. The results allowed us to determine that substitution and hesitation are the errors that students make when they read. In order to support the strengthening of students ́ reading skills which was to reduce the mistakes, the proposal "To live an adventure, reading is needed" was designed and applied. According to the results obtained, teachers are encouraged to consider the use of student's tales in order to guide the strength of reading, taking into account one of the essential aspects for the acquisition of future learning.
