Summary:The present research work entitled "The School Food Program and its impact on student learning outcomes at Manuel Ignacio Monteros Valdivieso Educational Unit in Loja City, 2022- 2023” This study holds a significant importance in providing us a deep understanding of how school food impacts students' academic performance, allowing us to observe a comparison before and after the implementation of the program, the same that was guided by the following objectives: To analyze school food and their impact on the academic performance of students at Manuel Ignacio Monteros Valdivieso Educational Unit in Loja city, in the same way specific objectives were established: a) Identify the academic performance of the students at Manuel Ignacio Monteros Valdivieso Educational Unit; b) Determine the degree of correlation between school food and the academic performance of students at Manuel Ignacio Monteros Valdivieso Educational Unit. To carry out this research work, a mixed methodological approach was adopted, combining qualitative and quantitative descriptive techniques, including interviews with teachers and surveys to parents. To analyze the relationship between school food and academic performance, the descriptive-analytical method was used and the Chi-square test was applied. One of the most relevant discoveries was that there is a minimal correlation between adequate nutrition and better academic performance. It was observed that well-nourished students tend to show higher academic performance compared to those with poor nutrition. In summary, this study demonstrates that providing school snacks not only meets a basic need of students, but also plays a significant role in cognitive development, concentration and overall health improvement.
