Aggiungi Tag | Riassunto: | The oral health status of pregnant women varies according to the general health status of the woman before pregnancy, in addition to her oral care habits; during pregnancy, women experience hormonal changes that affect oral health status, these changes can lead to increased susceptibility to caries and periodontal disease, and these complications can influence the health status of the newborn, increasing the risk of premature delivery and low birth weight, we conducted the present research paperwork to analyze the oral health status of pregnant women in the Manú parish of Saraguro canton, province of Loja, fifteen pregnant women participated in this study and underwent an exploratory evaluation of the oral cavity, the results showed that 50% of pregnant women had regular oral hygiene, 33% had poor oral hygiene, and 16% had good oral hygiene, we evidenced a high prevalence of caries in 50% of the population, 25% with moderate predominance and 8% with low prevalence, as a result, 66% of the group of pregnant women needed periodontal treatment, we could not find any correlation between the OHIS-PSR indexes (p=0.983) and neither between the OHIS-DFMT indexes (p=0.847). |
