description The Curricular Integration Work entitled "Thinking Based Learning and Critical Thinking in Basic General Education" has the general objective of determining the influence of Thinking Based Learning on strengthening critical thinking in fifth-year basic education students, within unit 2 (legends) of the Literature curriculum block. This is a descriptive investigation with a mixed approach and non-experimental design. The theoretical framework addresses the variables: Thinking Based Learning and critical thinking. During the research process, the methods used included analytical, synthetic, hermeneutic, inductive, deductive, and bibliographic. To collect information, an interview was conducted with the teacher, and a diagnostic evaluation was applied to the students. The investigated population comprised 24 students and one teacher from the "Miguel Riofrío" Basic Education School. Initial results indicate that a high percentage of the investigated students do not meet the required learning outcomes, and a significant percentage are close to achieving them. To contribute to the improvement of students' critical thinking, a pedagogical proposal titled "Thinking Based Learning: An Innovative Approach to Fostering Critical Thinking" was designed and implemented. This proposal proved to be effective in strengthening critical thinking, as confirmed by the second application of the diagnostic evaluation, which showed that a significant number of students mastered the required learning outcomes, and another percentage achieved them. It is concluded that the Thinking Based Learning methodology is an effective tool for developing and strengthening students' critical thinking. Therefore, teachers are encouraged to use this active approach to prepare autonomous and critical learners for comprehensive and quality education.

Therefore, teachers are encouraged to use this active approach to prepare autonomous and critical learners for comprehensive and quality education.El Trabajo de Integración Curricular titulado “El Thinking Based Learning y el pensamiento crítico en la Educación General Básica”, tiene como objetivo general: Determinar la influencia del Thinking Based Learning para el fortalecimiento del pensamiento crítico en los estudiantes de quinto año de básica, en la unidad 2 leyendas del bloque curricular de Literatura; es una investigación de tipo descriptiva, con un enfoque mixto y diseño no experimental; en el marco teórico se abordaron las variables: Thinking Based Learning y pensamiento crítico; durante el proceso investigativo los métodos empleados fueron el analítico, sintético, hermenéutico, inductivo, deductivo y bibliográfico; para recopilar la información se aplicó una entrevista a la docente y una evaluación diagnóstica a los estudiantes; la población investigada comprendió 24 estudiantes y una docente de la Escuela de Educación Básica “Miguel Riofrío”. Los resultados iniciales denotan que un alto porcentaje de estudiantes investigados no alcanzan los aprendizajes requeridos y un porcentaje significativo está próximos a alcanzar los aprendizajes. Con la finalidad de contribuir al mejoramiento del pensamiento crítico de los educandos, se diseñó y ejecutó una propuesta pedagógica denominada “Thinking Based Learning: un enfoque innovador para fomentar el pensamiento crítico”, la misma que fue efectiva en el fortalecimiento del pensamiento crítico, lo cual se corroboró con la segunda aplicación de la evaluación diagnóstica, cuyos datos permiten visibilizar que un elevado número de alumnos domina los aprendizajes requeridos y otro porcentaje alcanza los aprendizajes.
