FORTALECIMIENTO DE LA CADENA PRODUCTIVA Y DE VALOR DEL CAFÉ EN EL CANTÓN PUYANGO, PROVINCIA DE LOJA, AÑO 2015

Production and marketing of coffee is an important economic sector in the country, in the province of Loja and especially in the catón Puyango; however, farmers low incomes of this activity, mainly due to low productivity and low value-added production. Therefore, this study has the general objective: To strengthen the links in the production chain coffee canton Puyango through the organization, value added and funding to increase the income of coffee producing families. the type of field research and literature was used. Field research was conducted in Ciano, El Arenal and Canton Vicentino Puyango parishes and market research in the city of Loja. In the study there are parishes of the canton Puyango 528 coffee producers, of which 11% are associated. 2015 have been renovated 998 hectares of coffee plantations. It was determined that the implementation of the coffee processing plant is favorable, since for the execution of the project without funding presents the following financial ratios: NPV of $ 87,430, IRR of 28.95% and the cost benefit ratio of 1.38; with funding of $ 106,494 a NPV, IRR of 33.01% and a benefit cost ratio of 1.66 is obtained. Therefore, it is desirable implementation, as the means to strengthen the links in the production chain, reducing the power of the intermediary and improving the income of farmers, besides which it is inserted within the policies of change of the productive matrix.
