Descripció
Sumari:The main purpose of this research entitled “Appropriate intervention in children with autism from 6 to 10 years of age at the Miguel Ángel Suarez Private Basic Education School, city of Loja, period 2023-2024” was to analyze how appropriate intervention influences children with autism from 6 to 10 years of age. The specific objectives used for this work were: to provide a theoretical basis for appropriate intervention in children with autism aged 6 to 10 years, to determine the importance of appropriate intervention and finally to design a proposal for appropriate intervention in children with autism aged 6 to 10 years from the Escuela de Educación Básica Particular Miguel Ángel Suarez, The methods used were scientific, inductive, analytical and synthetic, with a qualitative approach, descriptive scope and a non- experimental and transversal design, covering a relatively short period of time from diagnosis to the discussion of results. The findings obtained through the interviews and the observation guide revealed that appropriate intervention has a significant impact on the academic performance of students from second to sixth grade of elementary school, since it was observed that poor psycho-pedagogical intervention in autism can delay the development of social skills, communication and academic skills, increase problematic behaviors such as aggression or withdrawal, negatively affect self-esteem and self-confidence, cause emotional problems such as anxiety and depression, and hinder adequate social integration, affecting the person's ability to interact and participate fully in his or her environment.
