| 要約: | In Latin American, between 60% and 76% of women have been victims of gender-based violence in different areas of their lives. This problem is similarly reflected in Ecuador approximately 64.9% of the female population suffered violence throughout their lives for being a woman by 2019, and more than 90% did not report the fact. Given this scenario, the objective of this research aims to evaluate the factors that influence violence against women in Ecuador in 2011 and 2019, using discrete choice models, in order to propose policy measures to reduce the violence suffered by women. For this purpose, data were taken from the National Survey on Family Relations and Gender Violence against Women (ENVIGMU) for years 2011 and 2019, respectively. The methodology used in this research was based on estimation of Discrete Choice Models such as logit, probit and tobit, as well as the Propensity Score Matching (PSM) estimator. The results allowed concluding that violence in childhood is one of the main causes of gender violence; in the same way, the existence of a statistically significant gap between the years 2011 and 2019 was proved, a situation that directly responds to the behavioral patterns and sexist stereotypes predominant in society. Based on this, this research work proposes how to encourage the participation and collaboration of public and civil society entities, associations and organizations that work against violence against children, in order to promote security coverage that guarantees the full development of girls and boys. |
