El diagnóstico del síndrome de inmunodeficiencia adquirida VIH-SIDA y su impacto en la funcionalidad familiar en pacientes de la Unidad de Atención Integral a personas viviendo con VIH-SIDA del Hospital General Isidro Ayora de Loja. Periodo diciembre 2014-abril 2015

It is important to know the reactions and family behaviors that relate against people with HIV – AIDS on the basis of accompaniment, support or rejection that develops the family to the patient, It can cause families to become fertile ground for the impulse of crises which impact negatively on the patient, the environment and society, hence the need to investigate on the diagnosis of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome and its impact on family functioning in patients of the Unit of Integral Attention to people living with (HIV - AIDS) General Hospital Isidro Ayora city of Loja. Period December 2014 - April 2015. The research was aimed at determining the impact of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome in patients of the Unit of Integral Attention to people living with HIV - AIDS Isidro Ayora Hospital General de Loja. The research was scientific, social and transversal type, with a quantitative approach - qualitative; Methods as scientific, analytical-synthetic inductive-deductive, descriptive and statistical model was used. Between the techniques and instruments was applied psychological observation, the family functioning test (FF - SIL); Hamilton test for depression and anxiety. Instruments that allowed determine that 40% of patients who come to the Comprehensive Care Unit of persons who living with (HIV - AIDS) of the General Hospital Isidro Ayora, belongs to moderately functional families, a low percentage to functional families and highly dysfunctional families, and a minimum percentage of dysfunctional families; Likewise it was evident that 40% have symptoms less than major depression; a lower percentage was diagnosed with minor depression and a minimum percentage have major depression; and 80% have mild anxiety and a smaller percentage were diagnosed with moderate to severe anxiety. That's why we must intervene in families, fundamentally with models of coping and assertive communication, with a view to improve family dynamics, creating an appropriate setting that will strengthen family relationships, in addition to providing therapeutic tools, to reduce the symptoms associated to depression and anxiety.
