Riassunto:Diabetes is one of the main epidemiological problems due to its high mortality, morbidity and costs, being one of the main causes of blindness, amputation and kidney disease; for this reason the present study is of transcendent importance, whose general objective is to determine the risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in order to implement preventive measures. The present study is quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional, for which a sample of 319 people (136 men and 183 women) was taken between the ages of 20 and 64 years old who live in the cantonal canton of Olmedo Canton, selected by randomization simple to which the Findrisk test was applied to identify the risk of the population. The study allowed to determine that 32.60% of the investigated population is at a slightly elevated risk, 11.91% (n = 37) corresponds to a moderate risk; 9.09% (n = 28) at high risk; and, at very high irrigation, 3.45% (n = 11). Likewise, statistical significance was determined between the variables age, BMI, abdominal perimeter (men and women), history of having reported high sugar level (s) or having received prescription of antihypertensive drugs, and the risk of developing DMII in the next 10 years. . It is concluded that the Findrisk Test is a valuable screening tool whose results allow to influence the modifiable factors and qualify the risk for the control of people.
