| Shrnutí: | Student dropout, known as student attrition, is a complex phenomenon caused by various interrelated factors. This problem affects many higher education institutions and has significant social implications. In response to this issue, a study was conducted to identify factors predisposing to university dropout among students in the rotating internship of the Medicine program at the Faculty of Human Health. The research employed a descriptive and crosssectional approach, using a sample of 28 students who were administered the QVA-r Questionnaire. The findings reveal that the majority of participants, 67%, were between 21 and 25 years old. All identified as mestizo, with a slight predominance of women 53.57%. 85.71% were single and 10.71% had children. All respondents worked, while half lived with their parents and siblings, 32.14% lived alone and 10.71% with their partner. A small percentage 7.14% reported diseases requiring continuous medication. Most came from provinces in zone 7. The study identified several factors associated with dropout. Socioeconomic: primarily related to low income. Personal: including anxiety, low self-esteem, and adaptation difficulties. Cultural: linked to the country's economic, employment, and violence situation. Academic: concerning the relationship between professors, students, and administrative staff. Based on these findings, it is suggested that the university strengthen the services offered by the university welfare department. This is to ensure that the educational process of students is not interrupted due to lack of economic resources or mental health problems |
