Тойм:In recent years, the concern of university institutions for the physical and mental health and quality of life of their students constitutes an increasingly growing demand. The present research is inserted within the lines of work of the University Wellbeing program of the National University of Loja, for this the prevalence of diseases in the students of the first cycle of the Faculty of Human Health was analyzed, with the purpose of characterizing sociodemographically to the students of the faculty, identify the diagnoses of the population studied according to the ICD-10 and design monitoring strategies for the diagnoses and prevention of diseases. The methodology used is mixed, with a descriptive and transversal research design. To collect the information, an informed consent questionnaire and the student's medical history were used. The results showed that female students predominate, in an age range of 18 to 20 years; the prevalence of tobacco and alcohol consumption is low; Personal and family medical history of a surgical and clinical pathological nature prevails. Pathologies were identified in 34.3% of the students, being higher in female students, and in Laboratory and Psychology and Clinical majors. Migraine, polycystic ovary syndrome, stress, gastritis and myopia were more prevalent. The incorporation of a group of actionsis proposed thatstrengthen the work of the University Welfare department of the Educational Institution, aimed at both early diagnosis and intervention
