Gaia:The present research entitled, THE USE OF CONCRETE MATERIAL FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF SKILLS WITH PERFORMANCE CRITERIA OF THE MATHEMATICS SUBJECT IN THE STUDENTS OF EIGHTH GRADE OF BASIC GENERAL EDUCATION OF THE EDUCATIONAL UNIT FERNANDO SUÁREZ PALACIO OF THE CITY OF LOJA, PERIOD 2016-2017. ALTERNATIVE GUIDELINES. The general objective is to analyze the concrete material used by the teacher, for the development of skills with performance criteria in the subject of mathematics. The methods used are: the scientific, hypothetical deductive, analytic-synthetic and statistical. The main results are that the teacher does not use concrete material to promote the development of Skills with Performance Criteria. Likewise, both the students and the teacher agree that the concrete material is a fundamental resource for the teaching and learning of mathematics. That is why it is recommended to the teacher of the mathematics subject of Eighth Grade of Education of General Basic Superior, use various concrete materials for the teaching of Curricular Blocks as: rovisure for the study of block algebra and functions; Tangram for the geometry block and mean; And roulette for the statistic and probability block, to promote the development of Skills with Performance Criteria.
