সংক্ষিপ্ত:Artificial Intelligence is defined as a field of study that aims to develop programs and computer systems capable of imitating human cognitive abilities through the use of algorithms and advanced techniques. Many industries, including healthcare, finance, transportation, and education, utilize the AI to automate the development of their needs. In the educational sector, the AI has a high potential to raise the standards of teaching and the learning process, thereby contributing to the training of individuals equipped to face a future characterized by increasing digitalization and globalization. Among the objectives of the project, there is a general objective to analyze the academic use of Artificial Intelligence among students of the Communication degree at the National University of Loja during the period between November 2023 and February 2024. The specific objectives aim to evaluate the students' perception of the implementation of the AI in their educational process, analyze the academic performance of students in subjects where teachers use AI-based technologies compared to those who do not, and identify the challenges and benefits experienced by teachers when incorporating the AI into their teaching practices. The methodological process of this research was carried out through the application of a questionnaire focused on Artificial Intelligence, its concepts, scope, benefits, and contributions to the educational field, applied to students and teachers of the Communication degree at the National University of Loja. The results indicate a high level of familiarity among students with the concept of AI, a preference for definitions emphasizing its ability to simulate human cognitive processes and solve problems, widespread acceptance of AI as an effective tool for enhancing the learning experience, the perception of instant and continuous feedback as the main benefit of its integration, and predominant interest in its implementation in areas such as marketing, advertising, audiovisual fields, and research. Furthermore, a series of conclusions and improvement proposals are presented, focused on the acceptance of AI as an effective tool for enhancing the learning experience and the development of strategies to ensure its maximum benefit.
