Based on the aforementioned, an analytical, observational and prospective study was carried out to achieve the following objectives: first, identify which preschoolers treated at health center No. 1 presented malnutrition; second, identify which preschoolers treated at health center No. 1 presented anemia; third, demonstrate the relationship between anemia and malnutrition in preschoolers treated at health center No. 1. The study population comprised 473 children, and the sample consisted of 101 children who met the criteria for inclusion and exclusion. The results determined that 24.5% presented malnutrition and anemia; of which, 95.05% had mild malnutrition and 93.07% had mild anemia, concluding that 100% of malnourished children had anemia. Keywords: malnutrition, anemia and preschoolers.La desnutrición sigue siendo uno de los problemas de salud pública más graves que afectan a los niños menores de 5 años en Ecuador. El mayor porcentaje de desnutrición se encuentra en la zona rural con el 26%; este problema se agrava muchas más con la anemia, que en la mayoría de los casos puede ser prevenida. De acuerdo a esto se realizó el presente estudio el cual es de tipo analítico, observacional y prospectivo; en este estudio el primer objetivo fue identificar a los preescolares con desnutrición atendidos en el centro de salud No1; el segundo objetivo fue identificar a los preescolares con anemia atendidos en el centro de salud No1; el tercer objetivo fue demostrar la relación que existe entre anemia y desnutrición en los preescolares atendidos en el centro de salud No1. En el estudio el universo estuvo constituido por 473 niños, y la muestra estuvo constituida por 101 niños que cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión y exclusión, obteniéndose que el 21.35% presentaron desnutrición y anemia de los cuales el 95.05% desnutrición leve y el 93.07% anemia leve, concluyendo que el 100% de los niños desnutridos presentan anemia.
