Opis
Streszczenie:The process of Parkinson's disease is chronic and progressive caused by neuronal degeneration in the black substance, leading to a decrease in dopamine values. The quality of life and adherence to treatment have great relevance in these patients. The objective of this study is to evaluate the quality of life and the adherence of the treatment of individuals with Parkinson's and to identify if there is a relationship between adherence to the treatment and the quality of life. To carry it out, it was done through a cross-sectional descriptive study using the PDQ-39 questionnaires for quality of life and Morisky-Green for treatment adherence, in 50 patients with Parkinson's disease treated at the Isidro Ayora Loja General Hospital. The results show an average score of 33.23% in the PDQ-39, the domains with the worst score being those related to emotional well-being, cognitive development and physical discomfort. On the other hand, 58% of the patients were classified as treatment adherents. With respect to the possible relationship between the two, there is an association between worse daily life activity with greater adherence to treatment (P = 0.032), without finding any other relationship between the other domains and adherence to treatment. In conclusion, the quality of life is better in a greater number of patients with 52%, and there is no association between quality of life and adherence to treatment except as mentioned above.
