Valoración de las propiedades con fines de utilización en Asfalto De los Áridos, que se ubican en el Libre Aprovechamiento “GAD CATAMAYO 4” código 60000476, sector Catamayito, Parroquia el Tambo, Cantón Catamayo, Provincia de Loja

This research determines the properties of aggregates for asphalt use sourced from the “GAD CATAMAYO 4” unrestricted exploitation site (code 60000476), located in the Catamayito sector, El Tambo Parish, Catamayo Canton, Loja Province. These aggregates are commonly used for various civil engineering projects in Loja Province and Catamayo Canton. The study analyzes the technical specifications required for their use in asphalt processes for construction work, adhering to the relevant standards. The materials were subjected to a series of laboratory tests to evaluate their physical, chemical, and mechanical properties. The results confirmed their suitability for asphalt production in compliance with the technical specifications outlined in MTOP MOP-001-F 2002. From the test results, the granulometric fractions required for hot-mix asphalt were established as follows: 5% 3/4" aggregate, 27% 3/8" aggregate, 35% crushed fine aggregate, and 33% washed fine aggregate. In conclusion, the aggregates from the "GAD CATAMAYO 4" unrestricted exploitation site (code 60000476) meet all technical requirements and are deemed suitable for use in asphalt mixtures for civil construction projects.
