Ամփոփում:The risk factors such as overweight, obesity, inadequate physical activity and incorrect feeding in children and adolescents predispose to develop type 2 diabetes mellitus. The present research had the purpose of determining the values of pre-prandial glycemia, postprandial, to know the risk factors for the development of DM2 and the relation of the glycemias with the risk factors in children and adolescents of the ‘’Unidad Bernardo Valdivieso’’. The study was descriptive, quantitative, cross-sectional with a population of 500 students from 9 to 14 years old , BMI was calculated; 57 presented overweight and obesity, capillary blood was performed, the modified Findrisc’s questionnaire for children and adolescents was applied by the berbs group from Spain. Obtaining 7% (n = 4) children and adolescents with elevated pre-prandial glucose and an adolescent with glucose intolerance representing 1.8%. The inadequate physical activity and incorrect feeding were presented in 56.1% (n = 32) and 57.9% (n = 33), respectively, family history in second grade in 61.4% (n = 34). The students with altered glycemia values presented the described risk factors, which are modifiable factors and can be work to reduce the high risk of developing DM2.
