| Итог: | This research focuses on identifying the effects of parental neglect on the psychosocial development of middle childhood. Parental neglect refers to the non-fulfillment of the responsibilities of motherhood and fatherhood, which triggers the dissatisfaction of the infant's needs within the family nucleus. Likewise, psychosocial development is the process in which an individual, in interaction with the environment, acquires the necessary skills for social development. The general objective of the study is to determine the incidence of neglect on the psychosocial development of children from 5 to 11 years of age institutionalized in the Padre Julio Villarroel Ocaña Shelter. The methodology used is mixed and the type of research is exploratory, using survey techniques applied to the technical team and tutors of the center, participant observation to collect relevant data on the interaction of children in the center and documentary review. In the conclusions it is determined that parental neglect affects some aspects of the psychosocial development of children, mainly in their ability to cope with stressful situations, affectivity, interaction with peers and behavioral and emotional regulation. The recommendations highlight the importance of approaching the problem from a multidisciplinary perspective in order to intervene in a more comprehensive and effective way not only with the affected child, but also with the family. |
