Epidemiología del cáncer gástrico en la provincia de Loja, periodo enero 2004 a diciembre 2013.

Gastric cancer is considered one of the most devastating diseases in recent times or decade. It is kid of disease in which cells are anaplastic dissimilar original stomach tissue, produced by a variety of features. This research responds to a serious public health problem, so he was raised general objective conduct an epidemiological study of gastric cancer, residents of the province of Loja, diagnosed at the Institute of Cancer, SOLCA-LOJA, during the period January 2004 to December 2013. This is a quantitative and transversal research; the sample consisted of 1017 patients diagnosed with gastric cancer, residents in the province of Loja, served in SOLCA - Loja in the decade from 2004 to 2013. The unit of analysis was the medical history of cancer patients. The results were processed using the Excel program; inferential analysis for the calculation of individual and proven statistical projection was used. Among the main results we scored an irregular trend of behavior peaks; the overall incidence is on average 101 cases per year, most of whom were male and with increasing age there is a greater risk, the relationship man - woman is 1.36, alcohol consumption is closely associated with the presentation pathology, snuff consumption does not influence significantly. Having a family history of gastric cancer indicates that it is likely to acquire this disease. Key words: Gastric cancer, epidemiology, risk factors, heredity, smoking, alcoholism.
