Özet:The present work is focused on the application of a Financial Education program for high school students of the Guillermo Herrera Sánchez Educational Unit of the Taquil parish in the city of Loja, this research follows a mixed approach, Methods such as inductive - deductive and analytical - synthetic were required to analyze the premises that contributed to the reconstruction of the facts that have influenced the current level of financial education of this population, therefore, the tool to develop the measurement of financial literacy was a pre-assessment subdivided into three sections: socioeconomic, behavioral and knowledge, so that it was possible to design a guide containing topics such as financial products and services, savings, financial indicators, among others and apply a Financial Education program based on the previous results, finally the knowledge imparted through the training carried out was evaluated, It is important to point out that initially the financial knowledge of the students was located at level 2 according to the PISA program, these results are consequent to the low level of schooling of the parents, added to the absence of financial institutions in the sector, while at the end of the application of the program, such knowledge was located at level 4, therefore, the incidence of financial literacy in the sector is higher than the level of the program, and therefore, it is important to point out that the financial knowledge of the students is at level 2 according to the PISA program, these results are consistent with the low level of schooling of the parents, added to the absence of financial institutions in the sector, while at the end of the application of the program, such knowledge was located at level 4, therefore, the impact of such training was positive for the participants, it is also exposed that the students present attitudes and skills that influence the making of sound financial decisions in the future.
