| Sumari: | The study was conducted with plantation located in the sectors: Velacruz, Yaramine, Moras and Santa Teresa, in the province of Loja. The aim was to establish the optimal parameters for processes: brushed, molding, drilling, turning and grinding of Eucalyptus saligna. The tests were conducted under standard "Standard Methods for Conducting Machining Tests of Wood and Wood-Base Materials" ASTM-D 1666-1687 (1999). 16 specimens with radial cutting plane 16 with tangential plane and oblique plane 16: a total of 48 specimens were used distributed. In the trial of brushed worked with cutting angles of 15 ° and 30 ° for each cutting plane, to assess the quality of surface. Sanding test worked with two types of sandpapers No. 60 and No. 100 in which the defect of striped and downy calculated in the three cutting planes made. Molding variables for the plane cutting and chipping grain defects, ripped and fluffy considered. Drilling is worked with rotational speeds of the drill: 500 and 1 000 rpm, drill bit double helix diameter of 1.3 cm was used; entry and exit hole scored. The turning is performed with a special blade profile three cutting angles and two rotational speeds of the knife holder 500 and 1 000 rpm; chipped grain is called, raised, hairy and started. The wood of Eucalyptus saligna Smith, from the province of Loja, has a good performance in the machining process wrought; however when it comes to brushing with low cutting angle (15 °) and a tangential plane of the surface quality it is excellent. This wood has good behavior tests sanding, molding, drilling the two speeds of the drill. However when the timber is subjected to turning process it is advisable to work with cutting angles of 35 °. |
