Políticas Públicas focalizadas a la Prevención de la Violencia de Género, en el Cantón Quilanga Provincia de Loja, de la ciudad Loja, primer semestre año 2023

The main objective of this research is to determine the public policies focused on the prevention of gender violence in the canton of Quilanga, for this, an exploratory and descriptive design methodology was used, which through a documentary and field analysis by means of survey techniques directed to citizens, and interviews applied to authorities and government agencies involved in the protection of human rights, relevant results were obtained, such as the clear identification of public policies focused on the prevention of violence against women and gender-based violence as set out in the National Plan and the National Agenda, however, in the canton of Quilanga, the lack of application of those defined public policies was determined, Although there is coordination between agencies such as the GAD, the Cantonal Board, the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion (MIES) and the Ministry of Health, there are no education and awareness campaigns with specific topics on gender violence in all sectors of the canton, especially in the most remote or rural areas. For these reasons, it is concluded that there is a clear lack of knowledge regarding public policies of both authorities and citizens, as well as ignorance of the procedure in case of being victims of violence and ignorance when seeking support and protection in the aforementioned agencies, so it is recommended to the authorities of the canton, In accordance with current regulations, the proposal developed based on the 4 axes of the Integral Organic Law to Prevent and Eradicate Violence against Women should be considered, in order to implement strategies to prevent gender violence and create a future of equality and equity.
