| Gaia: | The present investigation arises with the purpose of strengthening the academic performance of the students of the "Manuel Ignacio Monteros" Educational Unit, since it does not have a laboratory or the necessary materials to carry out practices in the Chemistry subject, that is why, which proposes experimentation with homemade materials, to relate theory to practice. In virtue of the application of different study instruments, the main issue was determined. The process involved an investigation of several scientific sources, in order to support the different categories and to develop an experimental guide with home-made materials. Also, to build an alternative proposal so as to give a solution to the located problem. The categories that uphold this investigation correspond to education models, teaching-learning process, learning, teaching approaches and Chemistry as an subject of Second Year “Bachillerato General Unificado”. The approach of this investigation is qualitative that belongs to exploratory and transversal types with a non-experimental design The obtained results, after the proposal was applied, demonstrate that the testing with home-made materials is used as a teaching approach to stablish theoretic-practical relationship in the subject of Chemistry and to enhance academic performance of students. |
