Zusammenfassung:The main objective in this work is determined the knowledge and practices that owns Healthcare Medical personnel against occupational risk of HIV infection - AIDS Regional Hospital Isidro Ayora. The methodology is part of the quantitative, descriptive, prospective, transversal study population consists of 60 doctors of the hospital care, which meet the criteria for inclusion and exclusion. For data collection a survey based on interviews was designed for each respondent, which has 3 questions of general characteristics of occupational hazard, 10 questions of knowledge; which have a rating of 0-10, and 13 questions about professional practices around exercised Based on the development of a survey of practicing physicians working in the hospital. The survey results reflected 3 important facts, firstly the level of knowledge of medical personnel against occupational hazard which was insufficient to 56.7%, second are in a medium risk in performing medical practices with a 61.7, and as a third point between the general characteristics was obtained, which 26.7% have a perception of being infected with HIV-AIDS. 56.7 %% considers that the institution cares if its Biosafety; 33.3% believe that they are ever ready means of protection such as (gloves, masks, eye protection), 30% consider that almost always give them training in HIV / AIDS, 26.7% consider that almost always receive Directives - Standards and / or manuals HIV / AIDS and also 33.3% consider that rarely are given guidance and counseling for the ELISA test done for HIV / AIDS.
