Özet:Nowadays it is more and more evident to see reflected diverse styles of upbringing in Ecuadorian homes. For this reason, the objective of this research is to identify parenting styles and their influence on the behavior of elementary school students at the Río Marañón Educational Unit. This research process was carried out by means of a descriptive research through a mixed approach, with the purpose of analyzing in depth the subject of study. For the collection of information, instruments such as: semi- structured interview, participant observation and the ESPERI test were used. The research population consisted of 55 students of Basic Education of the "Unidad Educativa Río Marañón". A sample was selected (middle sub-level (12), upper sub-level (12)), thus a sample of 24 students was worked with. Among the main results found was that most of 10 the individuals analyzed were raised under an authoritarian and negligent style, which caused them to develop behavioral disorders. Finally, based on the results found, we proceeded to build an intervention proposal that helps to solve the problem (affective parenting workshop).
