The Art 66 of the Constitution of the Republic of the Ecuador guarantees in its article 7 "the right of a person aggrieved by information without evidence or inaccurate, issued by means of social communication, to the corrected, replica or response, immediate, compulsory and free of charge, the same space or time"; and similarly in the same articles, in its paragraph 18 it guarantees "the right to honors and a good name, remain so that it protects and guarantees the image and the welfare of the citizens So that may be required by any person who is believed offended by versions issued in media (press, TV, radio, etc.) is claimed you damage so obligatory and free of charge, thus ensuring protection of her honor and integrity as a person. It is common, nowadays feel constantly high levels of irresponsible remarks, many of them in the figure of insults through the media against third parties, in where it transgresses the mission and vision that were constituted by such means, spend some programs become sources of personal or business interests , with lack of impartiality and accuracy. So, that there is a need to reform the organic law of communication in terms of sanctions by relapse for breach of rectifications by the media, in order to establish better sanctions that continuously and repetitive performs a communication medium, in such a way that ensure and protect all citizens be responsible and truthful information. |
