Sažetak:Education, being a constructive process, involves internal mechanisms of the human being such as attention and memory, essential processes in the acquisition of skills such as reading comprehension (CL). Finally, this research aimed to analyze the relationship between the level of processes . basic cognitive attention and memory and the levels involved in the (CL) in first cycle students of the Musical Arts degree 2023-2024, applying a quantitative approach, descriptive, correlational, transversal and non-experimental, aimed at 22 university students, applying the psychometric instruments Test d2, the subscale of the RIAS test and the ICLAU, likewise to establish the relationship between the variables, the non-parametric Pearson compensation coefficient was used, regarding the results in attention 63.6% of those evaluated have a low level, 31.8% have a medium level and 4.5% have a high level, on the other hand, in memory 58.1% have a low level, 36.4% have a medium level and 4.5% a high level and in the (CL) 50.3% have a low level, 36.4% a medium level and 13.6% a high level, achieving a positive compensation between attention and (CL) with a value of Kendall's Tau-b of 700, as well as between memory and (CL) with a value of Kendall's Tau-b of 683, reaching the conclusion that there is a correlation between the two research variables, and finally, recommendations were elaborated, such as the promotion of research to find out the consequences of having low levels of attention and memory in reading comprehension, in order to promote strategies or leveling programs for university students.
