সংক্ষিপ্ত:Burnout syndrome is an occupational health problem that occurs in professional offering characterized by prolonged intensive care to people in need services; presenting with high prevalence among nursing professionals because of the characteristics of the job. This study aimed to determine the levels of burnout syndrome in nurses Emergency Surgery Center, Intensive Care and Internal Medicine Hospital Isidro Ayora; through a descriptive study, applied to all nurses, the results were collected using the Maslach Burnout Inventory instrument in its Spanish version. The staff working in these areas are subject to various stressors such factors as: the great responsibility given to them, work overload, lack of professionals, too many patients, lack of material resources, the diversity of patients who should attend and problems to be solved, etc. The results indicate that the total number of professionals a minimum percentage suffers a high level of burnout syndrome being Emergency service where the highest percentage of nurses / os with high level of the syndrome, followed by the area of intensive care. As for the dimensions that make up the syndrome of emotional exhaustion levels are high in Central Surgical, ICU and Emergency. Depersonalization is presented at a high level equally in ICU departments, and Emergency Clinic; while in all services there is a high prevalence of personal fulfillment Keywords: Burnout Syndrome, Nursing
