Čoahkkáigeassu:The present investigation has as general objective: to analyze the use of social networks between the teachers of the Faculty of Education the Art and the Communication for academic purposes. The National University of Loja has the Virtual Learning Environment (EVA) so that teachers and students can interact, however this is disabled and is not used, in this way an alternative route of communication is proposed through a network social as Facebook. The investigation starts from the importance of academic networks and their integration into a teaching community for the exchange of information and optimize the teaching-learning process and reinforce the environment between the company. The main instruments included the application of surveys to 38 faculty members and interviews with Jhonny Sánchez, professor of the UNL expert in digital networks, and Milton Labanda in charge of the Telecommunications Unit. The information was processed and analyzed and found that 75% of clients know what the academic networks are but only 39% makes use of the benefits, in addition 49% of the teachers
