Тойм:In Ecuador, traffic accidents occur daily, however, this curricular integration work focuses on the study of accidents caused by driving fatigue of drivers of land transport vehicles. The National Transit Agency of Ecuador, on its website, exposes the number of annual accidents that occur for this reason, and it is alarming to see, year after year, this number has been increasing. While it is true, not driving beyond the permitted hours is a driver education issue, it is necessary, through the different traffic control agencies, land transportation and road safety organizations that the country has, Controls must be carried out on drivers of these transport vehicles to verify compliance of the regulations regarding the subject. It must be taken into account that, in Ecuador, it is already determined that companies dedicated to land transportation have in their units security devices such as the tachograph and that Ecuador has ratified Convention 153 of the International Labor Organization, that establishes the maximum hours of uninterrupted driving, the maximum hours of daily, weekly and biweekly driving, as well as the rest periods that drivers must respect, there is little or no control that is being given to them, which reflects the large number of traffic accidents caused by driving fatigue. Driver education and a conscious culture are also essential, as they can influence compliance of regulations. A respectful road culture encourages responsible behavior and compliance with driving times, thus contributing to road safety and prevention of driver fatigue.
