| Резюме: | The research work titled "Family Functionality and its Influence on Alcohol Consumption in adolescents from the Reinaldo Espinosa neighborhood in the city of Loja during the year 2022" aimed to analyze the impact of family functionality on alcohol consumption in adolescents from the Reinaldo Espinosa neighborhood during the year 2022. A quantitative, descriptive research approach with a non-experimental cross-sectional design was employed, using statistical, analysis, and synthesis methods to contribute to the theoretical foundation. A questionnaire, specifically the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT), was utilized to determine alcohol consumption patterns in a sample of fifteen adolescents. Additionally, the Family Functioning Test was administered to the parents of the participants. The most relevant results revealed a high prevalence of harmful alcohol consumption, with 54% of adolescents aged 18 to 21 years affected. Regarding family functioning, approximately 53% of families were found to be moderately functional, with lower scores in areas such as harmony, communication, and permeability on the test's subscales. These families, existing on the boundary between functional and dysfunctional, are susceptible to disruptions in family dynamics caused by stress, which in turn motivates alcohol consumption in adolescents. |
