| Zusammenfassung: | Lazarus and Folkman define stress as that particular relationship between the person and the environment, which is valued by the individual as an excessive effort or that goes beyond their resources, which is valued by the individual, as an excessive effort or that goes beyond their resources, endangering their well-being. Scientific evidence demonstrates that students handle high levels of stress caused by examinations, task overload and academic work, as well as their short delivery time and teacher personality or character. The study is descriptive and cross-sectional. The objective of the study was to identify the situations generating academic stress in students of the Nursing career, Was used as an instrument for collecting information on the SISCO 2007 inventory of academic stress. The results show that 85.9% of the participants handle high levels of stress, having as main stressors the overload of tasks and school work as well as the evaluations by the teachers. The students with the highest level of stress were the third cycle students. In conclusion the students of the Nursing career present high levels of stress that are generally produced due to the overload of tasks and the limited time to do the work.
