| Summary: | The present research study was carried out with the purpose of implementing voice over IP with mobile phones by using µelastix tools in a raspberry pi B. This telephony was designed to be used by the AEIRNNR area of the Universidad Nacional de Loja; that is the reason why it was set up according to its needs and requirements. For the data collection, and analysis and interpretation of results, scientific methods as well as techniques and instruments were used. The techniques used were the interview and the observation and the instruments were a questionnaire and an observation sheet. The questionnaire was applied to the academic and administrative staff that uses telephone network. For the proper functioning of our IP telephony system, a Raspberry Pi B hardware and a µelastix software were used. They are free to use and were considered with the purpose of meeting the needs of the AEIRNNR area which does not have landline IP telephony for each professor. Furthermore, the equipment that works with the older IP telephony software was used. The µelastix software has friendly interfaces to understand more about the basic settings which are necessary for a telephony system. It involves the creation of extensions, ivr’s, etc. This application was designed in an administrator-friendly manner that can provide immediate solutions. In the results section the applied process for the improvement of the telephony network is explained, also the µelastix and voip settings and the different tests done to the telephony network as well as the use of tools for the results of the quality service are described. Based on the obtained results, it was concluded that the voice over IP used by the academic and administrative staff of the AEIRNNR of the UNL was successful and helped to the communication among them. |
