Résumé: | Spinal anesthesia corresponds to one of the processes of application of local anesthetics to produce a sensory and motor block, these are applied by means of puncture in the intervertebral spaces at the lumbar level. Regional nerve block is a type of anesthesia that is used in patients for different surgical procedures, however it is one of the blocks of choice for cesarean section, the application of spinal anesthesia constitutes the use of a single injection of anesthetic in the region lumbar, cesarean section is a procedure that can be performed under general anesthesia under certain indications and is recommended regionally for the safety of the patient, however this study focuses on the most prevalent side effects that could occur with the use of this regional anesthetic spinal cord, to carry out this research study, a data collection instrument was used based on medical records of the patients undergoing this surgery, with a certain inclusion and exclusion criteria to delimit the universe, finally constituting the sample with a total of 216 medical records during the period September - November 2019, obtaining as results that with a percentage of 87% (n = 187) they belong to the age group between 23 - 26, of this sample 61.1% (n = 132) correspond to spinal anesthesia received for 1 occasion; Complications were presented, paresthesia with 2% (n = 4) and hypotension with 52.8% (= 114), the latter being the most frequent, it also showed that paresthesia with 2% (n = 4) are related with patients who have undergone 3 spinal anesthesia, and with respect to hypotension, which is more related with 39.7% to patients who have undergone 1 anesthesia.
