Riassunto:The present Curriculum Integration Work had as general objective: To analyze the relationship between the cognitive state and the educational level of the older adult of the center; A mixed approach research, descriptive type, non-experimental, cross-sectional and correlational design was used. The mini-mental cognitive test of Folstein, M, and Cols. and the semi-structured interview, were applied to the sample of 16 older adults ranging in age from 65 to 93 years. From the results obtained, it is found that 56% of older adults present a normal cognitive state, 44% a mild cognitive state, presenting greater difficulty in the areas of attention, calculation, and drawing; Regarding the educational level, 50% are located in the middle basic level; 25% at the basic elementary level, 18.8% have no school level and finally 6.3% studied up to the preparatory level; In terms of establishing the relationship between cognitive status and educational level, the chi-square value is 4.148, where the alternative hypothesis is rejected and the null hypothesis is accepted, which indicates that the cognitive status is not related to the educational level of the student. Elderly; Based on the results obtained from the semi-structured interview, the characterization of each of the dimensions was carried out, highlighting that older adults do not have stable economic resources, live alone, maintain an inadequate lifestyle, have different diseases that do not alter their cognitive status, as well as visual and auditory limitations typical of this stage of development; concluding that in the investigated population there is no influence of the educational level in terms of the cognitive status of older adults, however there are other factors that do influence the cognitive status such as that related to their quality of life, presence of diseases, sedentary lifestyle, aspects psychological among others.
