| Samenvatting: | The main objective of this study is to propose a physical exercise plan to improve the quality of life of eighth-grade students in parallel "A" of the Pío Jaramillo Educational Unit in the locality of Loja, period 2023, through a mixed approach, based on a correlational study and a quasi-experimental design. Thus, to achieve this objective, several instruments are used, including the KIDSCREEN-27 questionnaire, an internationally recognized tool for assessing young people's perceptions of their well-being and quality of life. In its initial phase, an evaluation is carried out on the 15 students involved, prior to the intervention that establishes a baseline (pretest) of current levels on the physical and mental well-being of the students. Subsequently, a five-week exercise program is implemented, with physical and cognitive activities, three times a week. In this way, the post-test results show significant improvements in all dimensions evaluated by the questionnaire, specifically, after the intervention of the proposal, the physical activity and health dimension improves by 12%, the improvement in mood and feelings is 9%, in the state of family life and free time it is 17%, in relationships with friends it is 6%, and in the school environment, it is 50%. These findings demonstrate that the physical exercise program enhances students' quality of life; therefore, incorporating an organized program of physical activity into the school plan can be beneficial. Students experience improvements in their emotional and cognitive health, in addition to physical benefits, so these results support the research objective of incorporating physical activity into school routines to enhance students' quality of life.
