To know infectious complications advanced puerperium postpartum and postcesarean; 3. To indicate the frequency of the puerperal infectious complications in the postpartum and postcesarean. Emplacement and / or place of study: Teofilo Davila Hospital from the town of Machala. Participants: 2400 from patients’ medical records puerperal women during the year 2015. Sample: 60 patients that complied with the criteria for inclusion being found in state of an infectious pathological puerperium whose childbirth was vaginal or by Caesarean section. Materials and methods: Application of "Form of collection of data" to the medical records of patients in the study. Results: The following infectious complications were obtained: 58% puerperal mastitis, 33% abdominal surgical wound infection, 8% of puerperal endometritis. Conclusions: puerperal infection that predominates in the mediate puerperium postpartum and postcesarean is the mastitis with breast engorgement; the puerperal infection that prevails in the late puerperium postpartum is the mastitis with predominance of an infectious mastitis and in the advanced puerperium postcesarean preponderates the infection of the surgical abdominal wound accompanied by dehiscence. The frequency of puerperal infection in the vaginal postpartum is 47% and the postcesarean is of 53%. Keywords: infectious complications, puerperium, mastitis, endometritis. |

Tipo de estudio: descriptivo, retrospectivo. Objetivos: 1. Identificar las complicaciones infecciosas en el puerperio mediato postparto y postcesárea; 2. conocer las complicaciones infecciosas en el puerperio tardío postparto y postcesárea; 3. Señalar la frecuencia de las complicaciones infecciosas puerperales en el postparto y postcesárea. Emplazamiento y/o lugar de estudio: Hospital Teófilo Dávila de la ciudad de Machala. Participantes: 2400 historias clínicas de pacientes puérperas durante el año 2015. Muestra: 60 pacientes que cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión encontrándose en estado de puerperio patológico infeccioso cuyo parto fue vaginal o mediante cesárea. Materiales y métodos: Aplicación de “Formulario de recolección de datos” a las historias clínicas de pacientes en estudio. Resultados: Se obtuvieron las siguientes complicaciones infecciosas: mastitis puerperal 58%, infección de herida quirúrgica abdominal 33%, endometritis puerperal 8%. Conclusiones: La infección puerperal que predomina en el puerperio mediato postparto y postcesárea es la mastitis con ingurgitación mamaria; la infección puerperal que impera en el puerperio tardío postparto es la mastitis con predominio de mastitis infecciosa y en el puerperio tardío postcesárea prepondera la infección de herida quirúrgica abdominal acompañado de dehiscencia. La frecuencia de infección puerperal en el postparto vaginal es 47% y en el postcesárea es de 53%.
