要約:Adolescence is considered a transition where biological, cultural, social and psychological changes take place. During this transition, there is an increased risk of developing eating disorders for fear of gaining weight, changes in the perception of body image and weight plus obsessive thinking about food that leads to a serious change in eating behavior, which is linked to chronic and progressive diseases. This quantitative and cross-sectional study aimed to identify the frequency of eating disorders in senior high school students from public schools in the parish 'San Sebastian' in the city of Loja, and its relationship with states of anxiety and depression. An Eating Attitudes Test (EAT-26), Zung Scale and Hamilton Scale were used to survey 344 students; 24.4% had eating disorders, of which 11% presented anorexia, 10.8% bulimia and 2.6% unspecified eating disorders.Out of all students, 84% showed anxiety and only 14.8% had depression. The relationship between eating disorders, states of anxiety and depression are high (OR = 4.88 p = 0.0012) (OK = 4.66 p = 0).The frequency of eating disorders in schools represents a quarter of students, and is related to anxiety and in a lesser way, to depression. These factors make a student more vulnerable to developing eating disorders. Keywords: eating disorders, anorexia, bulimia, unspecified behavior disorder, anxiety and depression.
