Aplicación móvil para consultas académicas en la Universidad Nacional de Loja.

In this degree research analysis and implementation of a mobile application for academic inquiries was carried out at the National University of Loja (UNL) in order to give students a new alternative in line with current technology trends. In addition, it allows them to gain access to their academic information in a timely manner using the advantages provided by mobile technology such as mobility and ease of access to information. Scrum methodology was applied for the development because of its adaptability to the development of mobile applications which in turn permitted the development of an application based on the needs of users. Also due to the variety of mobile operating systems that exist, the need to implement the application for the operating systems that predominate within the university community, namely, Android, Blackberry and iOS was also considered. Also the PhoneGap Framework was used which permitted the generation of a multi-platform mobile application using a single source code, thus reducing the time and cost of implementation. The use of techniques and tools employed have resulted in the construction of a mobile application, which has been distributed in respective mobile application stores and is available free to students and the general population to make general use of. Finally, we performed several tests with end users of the application in order to determine whether the mobile application streamlines academic inquiries thus allowing NUL students to find out their information in an efficient and timely manner.
