| Izvleček: | The present Curricular Integration Work called “Petrophysical characterization through the induced polarization test of the drill holes of the mining area “Linderos E” code 600840 located in Algodonal parish, Macará canton, province of Loja was developed through a detailed study of a total of eight drill holes of the “Copper Ridge” prospect located within the Linderos E mining concession. This prospect is so named because of its high copper grade values. A total of 637 samples selected from the group of drill holes were analyzed based on geological parameters such as lithology and alteration, as well as mining parameters such as total sulfide volume (STV). They were then subjected to the induced polarization test with the help of the SCIP TESTER, a versatile equipment that allows determining the petrophysical properties of resistivity and chargeability. Petrophysical properties describe unique characteristics of rocks as a result of their genesis and geological or tectonic processes over time. Resistivity is an electrical property measured in ohms per meter (Ohm*m) and corresponds to the resistance of a given mineral to the constant flow of electricity, an example of a highly resistive mineral is quartz. On the hand, the chargeability measured in millivolt/volt (mv/v) is a property that is related to the charge capacity of a given mineral, for example, sulfides have very high chargeabilities that exceed 10 mv/v. Therefore, the main objective of this study is to determine the response of each lithology characteristic of the area to the petrophysical properties of chargeability and resistivity in order to determine the main anomalous zones that have high values of chargeability above the average, reason for which they are correlated to the presence of sulfides of interest, such as chalcopyrite, one of the main copper ores. For the development of the study filed, laboratory and cabinet phases were carried out, in the first phase a tour of the eight CRDD22 drill holes, named after their drilling in the year 2022, in the laboratory phase each sample is analyzed to the induced polarization test applied with the SCIP TESTER and finally in the cabinet phase the variables obtained area analyzed in order to determine the best areas for a possible futures mining exploitation. Keyword: petrophysical properties, chargeability, resistivity, induced polarization, anomalous zones. |
