| Özet: | Quality of life is a multidimensional concept that encompasses economic, social and environmental aspects; however, in Ecuador, most studies have addressed this issue from a monetary perspective, without making use of a more multidimensional approach. In this sense, the research aims to evaluate the quality of life in the city of Loja, through an analysis that combines descriptive statistics, construction of a quality of life index and econometric models to determine the influence of factors such as informality, income and unemployment. The study is based on data obtained from 450 surveys applied in the city of Loja, allowing for a detailed evaluation of the socioeconomic conditions of the population. The results indicate that income level has a significant impact on quality of life, while labor informality and unemployment negatively affect the quality of life of individuals. Based on these findings, policy recommendations are proposed that focus on strengthening the generation of formal employment, improving access to essential services, and promoting local economic development strategies that contribute to raising the population's levels of well-being. Although Loja has a relatively acceptable quality of life compared to other cities in the country, it is essential to implement effective policies that mitigate the negative effects of informality and unemployment, guaranteeing sustainable and equitable growth. |
