Opis
Streszczenie:According to WHO, early, periodic and comprehensive pregnancy care substantially reduces the risk of complications in both maternal and perinatal death. It also promotes comprehensive delivery care and ensures favorable health conditions for mothers and their children. It has been shown that having adequate knowledge helps one to act quickly and appropriately when identifying symptoms and abnormal signs in pregnancy and contributes to the adoption of positive behaviours. The attitudes of pregnant women are therefore inclined to develop mannerisms that are both emotionally and behaviourally based, thus defining their conduct. This research aims to: Determine knowledge and attitudes with respect to pregnancy warning signs in prenatal women who attended the University Hospital of Motupe; Identify the knowledge level related to indications and symptoms of pregnancy warning signs and Recognize the attitudes of those same pregnant women with respect to indications and symptoms of pregnancy warning signs. This is a transversal study. Intentional non-probabilistic sampling was conducted via two surveys applied to 61 pregnant women, and the following results were obtained: An average level of knowledge was demonstrated by 68.84% of women aged 20-29 years; whereas a high level of knowledge was portrayed by 31.16% of the women. With respect to the attitude variable the results showed a positive trend towards a favorable attitude at 78.7%; followed by 21.3% demonstrating an indifferent attitude, the majority of which were primitive.
