Περίληψη:Theatrical reading is a pedagogical tool that provides a playful way for students to engage with literary works, creating an enriching experience that enhances the way they perceive reading and supports reading comprehension processes. Therefore, this research aims to analyze theatrical reading as a mean to improve reading comprehension at literal and inferential levels, through the identification of the component elements of texts. To achieve this, students' literal and inferential reading skills were identified, followed by the design of a didactic sequence to observe how students understand narrative elements in texts through theatrical reading, both at literal and inferential levels. Finally, the use of theatrical reading was analyzed as a mediation tool to exercise literal and inferential reading. This research adopted a qualitative approach and used an intervention-based design grounded in literary workshops. It involved 19 eighth-grade students from Bélgica Jiménez School, who participated in the Leo- Labs reading and creative writing workshops. The results demonstrate a shift in participants' reading comprehension processes, as shown by the national grading scale. Specifically, the DAAR level improved from an initial 5.26% to 42.11%; the AAR level changed from 26.31% to 21.05%; the PAAR level went from 42% to 15.79%; and the NAAR level changed from 31.58% to 15.79%. In conclusion, theatrical reading enables students to explore texts in a participatory way, building bridges that facilitate a deeper and more meaningful understanding of the literary content.
