总结:Teenager pregnancy, the knowledge about contraceptive methods and their little use by teenagers generate serious economic, social and health problem in our country. The present research is carried out to determine if the students have knowledge about contraception methods, their level, and to establish the information mean; to know if there is knowledge about the method that prevents ITS; to identify the most widely used contraceptive method; also to determine the percentage of students who used contraception in their first intercourse; to establish the percentage of use of day-after pill and finally to determine the number of pregnancy teenagers. The research is descriptive, prospective and cross-sectional and the data collection was carried out through a survey and direct observation in a population of 145 students of 14-19 years old. The study indicates that 86% of teens have knowledge about contraception, 52% have a regular level of knowledge, 32% received information through health campaigns, 56% have knowledge about the method of protection against ITS, 60.6% used contraception at first intercourse, the most used contraceptive method is the condom with 36.3%, 3.85% said they used the contraceptive pill of emergency, and the percentage of pregnant teenagers is 1.9%. As measures we established to strengthen contraception campaigns in the institution, emphasizing on contraceptive methods which protect against sexually transmitted infections, in addition to give information that people can obtain contraceptives and receive more information in the Hospital Básico de Macará. Also to ensure support for pregnant teenager and to promote contraceptive use and to avoid a second pregnancy. Key words: contraceptive methods, pregnancy, teenager.
